CTS  provides students with the opportunity to intern in various businesses gaining valuable education and pre-employment skills in careers to help them prepare for the future.

Each career internship requires a 110 hours of internship where students are entering the workplace in a career of their choice.  The Internship section is designed for students to try different careers, if they want, allowing them to study a variety of workplaces to give them a better opportunity in deciding the career that suits them.  Students are allowed to earn up to 12 credits in CTS or 8 Credits in Senior Years Apprenticeship.

There are four different sections that students can focus on when taking CTS.  They include:

Section 1:  Universal Credits

Section 2:  Industrial Technology

Section 3:  Human Service Technology

Section 4:  Highschool Apprenticeship Option

If you click on the links above you will see the courses that fall under each category and if there are any questions about each course the CTS Coordinator for Treherne Collegiate, Eleanor Sampson, will be able to answer your questions.

Treherne Collegiate also offers some pre-employment courses which will provide students with an introduction to some of the courses that fall under Internship.  These courses can be taken at Treherne Collegiate under the direction of the CTS Coordinator.

Pre-Employment Courses offered at Treherne Collegiate are:

The Effective Nursing Assistant

Child And Adult Care Professionals

Welding

Power Mechanics

Small Gas Engines

Automotive

Carpentry

Upon completion of each one of these courses the student will receive a full credit that falls under the Career and Technology Studies course list.
